Victor Black

Victor Black, (born May 23, 1988) is a minor league baseball player who was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first Round (49th overall) of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. He is a right-handed pitcher, weighs 204 lbs, and is 6 ft 4 in.
Early Life and career
Black was born in Amarillo, Texas and played baseball with Amarillo High School.
College career
Black attended Dallas Baptist University. In his freshman year, Black led the team with ERA and SO with an ERA of 1.47 and 32 SO. The opposing teams' batting average against him was .165. In his junior year he posted a 6-4 record in 15 starts with 99 SO in 88.2 innings. He was ranked by Baseball America as the 29th best pitcher available in the 2009 draft and become the highest drafted player in Dallas Baptist University baseball history. Black was NCAA Division I Independent Pitcher of the Week and the NCAA Student-Athlete of the Week.
Professional career
Black is scheduled to begin his professional career with the State College Spikes, Pittsburgh's short season entry in the New York-Penn League. Victor Black was signed on June 23, 2009.
