Vasko Ruseimy

Vasko Ruseimy (born July 13, 1986) is a young entrepreneur, politician and YouTuber. Vasko currently as Head of Division II of Finance, Banking & Development Planning at Indonesia Young Entrepreneur Association (BPP HIPMI). Vasko Ruseimy is a prominent figure in various Indonesian organizations. He holds several significant positions, such as Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Association of Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI), and Vice Chairperson of the Expert Council of Gekrafs.
Education and Early Life
Vasko Ruseimy is an alumnus of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Indonesia, majoring in Gas and Petrochemical Engineering, where he was active in various student organizations, laying the foundation for his future political career.
Political Career
Golkar Party:
Vasko’s political journey began with the Golkar Party, one of Indonesia’s major political parties. During his time with Golkar, he held significant positions such as Chairman of DPP GEMA MKGR and Deputy Chairman of AMPI until 2018. His last role within Golkar was as Deputy Secretary-General, where he focused on various organizational and strategic initiatives.
Berkarya Party:
In 2018, Vasko transitioned to Berkarya Party, a political party founded by Tommy Soeharto, son of Indonesia’s former President Soeharto. Vasko’s admiration for Soeharto’s leadership during the New Order era influenced his decision to join Berkarya Party. However, due to internal conflicts within the party, Vasko eventually left.
Gerindra Party:
Following his departure from Berkarya Party, Vasko joined Gerindra Party. At Gerindra, he served as a Special Staff to the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives and later became the Chairman of DPP Gerindra Party. His responsibilities included strategizing for the party and enhancing its public outreach.
Role in the 2019 Elections:
During the 2019 presidential elections, Vasko played a crucial role as the Spokesperson and Deputy Director of IT for the National Winning Body (BPN) for the Prabowo-Sandi presidential campaign. His contributions were pivotal in shaping the campaign’s communication strategies and technological outreach.
2024 West Sumatra Gubernatorial Election
Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and Gerindra have officially nominated the incumbent Mahyeldi and Vasko Ruseimy as their candidates for governor and deputy governor in the 2024 West Sumatra gubernatorial election. This nomination aims to continue the development initiatives and address the needs of the local populace. Mahyeldi, with his experience as the current governor, and Vasko Ruseimy, known for his leadership in various organizations, present a strong team for the upcoming election.
