Utah Avalanche

The Utah Avalanche are an American rugby league football team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. They compete in the American National Rugby League as a developing team.
History
The club was formed in 2011 and had originally planned to join the AMNRL after reviewing this they decided to join the USA Rugby League Their first match was a 52-4 loss to the New Zealand Police team and a 30-14 loss to the Washington DC Slayers in the USARL 9s held in Philadelphia. Following the USA Rugby League 9s in Philadelphia the club then decided to return to the AMNRL stating that they want to " foster the existing player interest by providing immediate game opportunities for local players" and the AMNRL have agreed to bring teams to Utah. They also aim to have a local competition with 5-6 teams competing locally in Salt Lake City and the West Coast by 2012.
