USAMASS.TV was created by Tourism Massachusetts in 2005 and was the first Internet Travel Channel program to be released in the United States. The site was ultimately hosted over 30 episode with British actor Tom Lowe. The site was recognised as being innovative and creative and provided travelers from around the world with a entertaining visual adventure through Massachusetts. The cutting edge approach to marketing a destination attracted over a 100,000 viewers a month within three months of operation. Morever, the site was written up in articles from China to England. In 2007 the newly elected governor of Massachusetts suspended funding for the Legislatively mandated program resulting in a suspension of the site. However, like most brillant ideas, the concept and idea is likely to live on. |
