The Unnamed Austin International Circuit, in Austin, Texas, USA is a planned Formula One racing circuit, near Austin. It will host the Formula One United States Grand Prix in -. The Unnamed Austin International Circuit is expected to be completed in Austin, Texas in time for the 2012 Formula One season speculated to be constructed at the intersection of U.S. Route 290 and Texas State Highway 130, ten miles distance from downtown Austin and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Unnamed Austin International Circuit will serve as the host city of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix from 2012 through 2021 in a purpose-built facility. Unnamed Austin International Circuit is the first time a race facility will be constructed as a purpose-built destination for Formula One in the US. History On 25 May 2010, Austin, Texas was awarded the race on a ten-year deal, as Bernie Ecclestone and event promoters Full Throttle Productions agreed to a deal beginning in . The event will be held on a purpose-built new track. The race promoter has confirmed that an eight hundred-acre site to the east of the city has been purchased, and that Hermann Tilke, Formula One's resident circuit design expert, has been commissioned to design the layout and infrastructure.
