Umu music

UMUMusic is an online Direct-to-Fan music platform, created in 2013 By Peter & Thomas Ross and built by UMU Digital. UMU Music facilitates musicians to interact with their fans to exclusively sell their music through subscription via download including recordings, music videos, behind the scenes videos and concert tickets. Broadly speaking it bears some similarities to such platforms as Facebook and MySpace.
First Artist
Russ Ballard joined UMU Music on the 17th February 2014. Ballard loved the idea of new music technology and the thought of changing the way music was sold for the better. He joined, bringing his 10th studio album “It’s Good To Be Here’ to the direct to fan music platform.
Charity Work
July 2015 Umu Music is in collaboration with CentrePoint Charity and Mark Knopfler to help raise funds for homeless chrildren in The U.K.
A short film was made to raise awareness of homeless kids between 16-24 years in our cities in the U.K. The backdrop sound underneath the story is the track of Mark Knopfler's ‘Local Hero' A track first made famous in 1983 in a David Puttnam film. The album that the track is from received a BAFTA award nomination for best score for a film in 1984. Knopfler did not hesitate when asked if we could use his composition to help raise funds for CentrePoint.
