Dethstarla an up-and-coming artist Sierra Bradley (born November 19, 1991) is an American singer-songwriter, known for her sweet voice and simple songs about geek culture. Her most popular songs include "Player Two", "Moon City", and "We're Not Alone".
Career
Dethstarla's music tends to fit a folk rock, acoustic music style, with elements of indie rock and pop.
Early career and geek culture
Bradley, currently a college student and IT specialist, has participated in multiple local music projects since her Freshman year of high school (including local bands such as, Brain Phantoms, The Psychedelic Mudbears, Keep Laughin', and other unnamed local bands). In her high school years she played at teen open mic-nights at local venues, and also made musical appearances at occasional house parties. Throughout her early life she was a huge fan of Video games and comic books and eventually started using those interests as inspiration for her music. A self-described geek, Dethstarla stuck to writing silly, quirky lyrics about all the things she's loved since childhood: technology, fantasy and science fiction.
Current status
In 2012 she began writing her most popular song "Player Two" which started the ball rolling for her only official album yet, "Moon City". She was deeply inspired by cult classic Sci-fi Movies, and wrote in witty romantic metaphors revolving around those movies and cartoons, as well as obvious inspiration from science, technology, and space travel. After she released the album, she began performing at local venues, such as The Silver Cow, Raindogs, and Yesterday's Social Club. Dethstarla also made an appearance at Orlando's MegaCon, where she promoted her album dressed as Han Solo from Star Wars and sold 150 albums. According to Dethstarla's website and other social media, she is currently focused on writing new songs for her next official album and occasionally plays at local music venues in Jacksonville. Her music has also been featured on multiple websites including MTV, Coverbattles, Guitar Cover TV, SonicHits, and Buscador MP3. Aside from that, Bradley keeps up with her growing fan base on YouTube and Facebook, where she posts original songs as well as cover song requests from her fans. "Tasty and joyful tuneage here! Just love your lyrical skills, particularly on 'We're Not Alone' and 'Player Two'..I can totally hear these tracks being used for licensing on TV ads for toy shops..just a charming, sweet collection of fun, sparkling storytelling."
