Tyrone Murphy

Tyrone Murphy is a British film producer, writer and director.

Tyrone Murphy started out in the industry as an actor and appeared in many film productions over the years before he embarked on a filmmaking career. He has worked on several projects as a producer and he has produced several of his own Films including the 2005 documentary The Hollywood Graffiti Gown, which had its world premier in California and went on to take the top award for “Best International Documentary” at the 2006 Lake Arrowhead Film Festival. Murphy went on to produce The Life Ball in Vienna a feature length documentary. Other projects include The King of Ireland, 1 Man v America, The Shakey Bridge Boys and Who is Howard Marks.

Murphy has also written several screenplays including The House That Jack Built, a detective thriller based true story. As of 2007, he is producing Mad Frankie Fraser a film based on the life of the British criminal gang member Frankie Fraser. The film takes a candid look at the criminal’s life.

Murphy is a member of The Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund, The Royal Television Society, The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and The British National Press (NPA).
