TwitterJobSearch.com is a job search engine for twitter run by WorkDigital Ltd. The beta version of the site launched on March 17, 2009, at the SXSW in Austin, Texas In the first five days after launch, the site received more than 100,000 thousand views from people searching for work and has since been described as a Web 2.0 version of Gumtree Technology As opposed to traditional keyword searches such as search.twitter.com and twazzup, TwitterJobSearch crawls links on twitter and uses semantic tools to add context to tweets. Many believe that a future revenue model for twitter will incorporate a similar contextual search. Twitter ecosystem TwitterJobSearch is among a number of companies, such asTweetDeck, TwitterFeed and Tweetie that are based in what has been referred to as the twitter ecosystem. Twitter's open API has allowed many individuals and organisations to build and develop their own businesses on the back of the microblogging site. Criticism Soon after launch of TwitterJobSearch.com, some commentators lamented that Twitter had the potential to become a giant job board citing the fact that already a lot of large job boards had created accounts and were actively posting jobs to twitter.
