Travis Hellstrom

Travis Hellstrom is an American social entrepreneur, writer and former Peace Corps Volunteer in Mongolia. He is creator of the website Advance Humanity and has written guides for Peace Corps and personal development topics under the brand World Changing Guides. He currently serves as CEO of the New Media Foundation and travels between Mongolia and America.

Peace Corps
Travis Hellstrom served three years with the Peace Corps in Mongolia as a Peace Corps Volunteer and Peace Corps Volunteer Leader from 2008 until 2011, where he worked with the Sukhbaatar Provincial Health Department and the World Health Organization. During his Peace Corps service he wrote the Unofficial Peace Corps Volunteer Handbook, which raised funds for Peace Corps projects around the world, and also created Peace Corps Merit Badges, which supports hand-made felt products in small local village. During his final year in Peace Corps he co-founded TEDxUlaanbaatar, the first TEDx event ever in Mongolia.
After completing his Peace Corps service, Travis taught a worldwide class called Peace Corps 101 and started Advance Humanity as a social movement where he writes weekly articles for everyday humanitarians who are changing themselves and changing the world. He also became founding CEO of the New Media Foundation which is dedicated to helping leading nonprofits in Mongolia and around the world. It is the philanthropic arm of the Mongolian-owned and operated company New Media Group.

Personal Life
Travis currently lives in the eastern steppe of Mongolia with his wife Tunga and will be attending the School for International Training in the fall as a Peace Corps Fellow.
