Travelfusion

Travelfusion is a travel search engine and travel technology company that is based in London, UK. Founded in 2000, Travelfusion develops technological solutions including a travel metasearch engine for both travel agents and suppliers. More recently a consumer website has been developed that provides flight comparison tools and sends users directly to the suppliers' websites to make a final travel booking.
Travelfusion aggregates travel content across over 150 websites and deliver the data with a single interface. Its location-based trip planning and Google Maps mashup allows users to search for a location on a map and find their departure airports and plan trips through the map.
Travelfusion is one of the first travel metasearch sites to integrate low cost carriers who are typically not integrated into legacy systems. Though the Travelfusion suppliers include mostly airlines, a recent partnership with VIA Rail in Canada has ensured that rail data will be integrated as a part of the existing XML API technology.
History
The company was founded in January 2000 by Moshe Rafiah in London, UK. Rafiah continues to serve as the company's CEO. In 2001, the company partnered with Virgin.net, the UK's number 1 online entertainment and leisure service and provided access to its network of merchants and travel comparison tools. The launch of Travelfusion's XML booking engine followed in 2004 which allowed for the management of bookings on over 50 low cost airline carriers.
Travelfusion began offering white label versions of the travel metasearch program in 2006, which allowed affiliates to use their own branding while integrating the trip planning and metasearch platform . In 2008, Travelfusion officially entered the Chinese market with the opening of an office in Shanghai and the launch of travelfusion.cn .
