Tony Jeary

Tony Jeary (born Anthony Jeary, 23 January 1961) is an American author, presentation coach, and strategic facilitator, best known for his “Strategic Acceleration” methodology.
Biography: Living in the Black
Childhood
Tony Jeary was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His parents are Stan and Linda Jeary, entrepreneurs who, along with his grandparents, taught him about the power of exceeding customer expectations and leveraging word of mouth marketing.
As a kindergartener, Tony began selling rocks to his neighbors. According to his current biographer, “With no real expenses, you could say he was in the black at age five.”
Professional Path
His real career begin in the 1980s when he started, built, and managed dozens of companies and partnerships, making himself an official millionaire by the age of 23.
In just a few short years, however, the tax laws changed, oil prices dropped to $10 a barrel, and Tony found himself financially upside down, definitely not in the black.
He took this opportunity to evaluate his strengths and weaknesses, and subsequently found a niche for himself: Because of his knowledge of how to make millions as well as how to lose them, he thought that others might want to learn from him. According to Jeary, “They did... and they still do.”
After a few years of this business focus, in 1991 he was awarded a consulting contract with Chrysler. Along with other consultants, Tony helped Chrysler to built a clear but lofty vision “to become the best company in the world." Within two short years Chrysler was paying Tony $2 million a year to coach, advise, and train their worldwide top executives.
He set up his Dallas headquarters, and opened offices in Detroit, Los Angeles, and China. In just a few more short years Chrysler had achieved its vision. It was considered the best company in America (need citation) and was showcased on the cover of FORTUNE Magazine. In 1988, Daimler bought Chrysler, and the profitable Daimler-Chrysler was born.
Based on this success, Tony's career was gaining momentum. He began authoring books, and was sought out as a coach by clients from across the world.
Author
His first book, Inspire Any Audience (Trade Life Books), was launched in 1996. The focus of this book was to increase individual and organizational presentation skills.
The following year he co-produced a presentation skills video series with his colleague and mentor Zig Ziglar. At this time Tony began traveling the world speaking to audiences on presentation-focused topics, and as a result became known as Mr. Presentation™. He was easily identified on stage by his trademark habit of wearing all black, all the time.
Subsequently, he authored books on a wide variety of presentation subjects. As of 2009, there are 15 available titles, including We've Got to Stop Meeting Like This (American Media Publishing 1999), Life Is a Series of Presentations (Simon & Schuster 2004), and his Christian-themed Purpose-Filled Presentations (Standard Publishing 2009).
His most recent mainstream book is Strategic Acceleration, Succeed at the Speed of Life (Vanguard Press 2009).
Presentation Coach
After several years of high-profile speaking engagements, by the late 1990s Tony was known as a highly sought-after presentation coach. Shifting his focus from speaking to consulting, he begin coaching the world’s top executives, including the presidents of Wal-Mart, Sams Club, Ford Motor Company, Firestone, Shell, Texaco, American Airlines, and Samsung, among others.
Strategic Facilitator
In 2006, Tony aligned with Zig Ziglar’s former president, Jim Norman, who worked to shift Tony’s corporate focus from outside presentation coaching to in-house strategic development.
Clients began coming to Tony’s private Strategic Acceleration Studio, a high-tech facility that combines the latest media technology with a library containing a lifetime’s worth of systems, processes, and best practices.
During these highly-efficient (one day vs. three day) strategic development meetings, Tony was providing his clients with clarity and focus, and enabling them to execute on their goals.
“Strategic Acceleration” Methodology
Jim and Tony concentrated the systems and processes used in the strategic development sessions and published a brief, concise booklet called The Passport to Strategic Acceleration. This was distributed to thousands of people, and not long afterwards, Tony was hired by the U.S. Senate Sergeant of Arms to teach the Senate Management team this methodology.
Because of this interest, Tony’s literary agent shopped the idea to the most influential publishers in New York. After much deliberation, Tony decided to work with Vanguard Press, which typically works with industry gurus and experts. Strategic Acceleration, Succeed at the Speed of Life was published in 2009 and provides a detailed methodology to provide clarity, focus, and execution.
Today
Tony considers his life an interesting one that has included both making and losing millions of dollars, which has provided insight into what impacts, negatively and positively, bottom-line results and success.
Today he works almost exclusively from his estate, advising, coaching, and facilitating Strategic Acceleration sessions with select executives from the world’s largest and most influential organizations. Now known as the Coach to the World’s Top CEOs, he is himself heavily in the black, and lives by the motto, “Give value. Do more than is expected.”
Tony resides in the Tour 18 development of Flower Mound, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area. He is married to Tammy Jeary. They have two daughters, Brooke and Paige.
