Bradley "Brad" John Sugars (born 28 May 1971) is an Australian entrepreneur and author. He is founder of ActionCOACH, a business coaching firm that operates in 26 countries. Born in Brisbane, Australia, he studied in Queensland before setting up Action International in 1993. His company, ActionCOACH has won several Stevie Awards. Sugars has published 14 books on business under the Instant Series title. He is a also writer for Entrepreneur Magazine. Controversy has followed Sugars on occasion, with corporate commentator James McCullough describing Sugars as a "motivational speaker that managed to loose (sic) quite a few people some serious dough" in an opinion piece in February 2009. The Sydney Morning Herald in 2003 reported that Sugars faced a franchisee revolt, including allegations of Sugars' use of techniques including sleep depravation, as well as below par training. Early life Sugars was born on 28 May 1971 to Raymond and Judith Sugars in Brisbane in Australia. After spending his early childhood in Darwin, and then Adelaide between 1980-1986, his family moved back to Brisbane. Career Sugars' reports being interested in business for his whole life, and whilst studying at Queensland University of Technology, he worked on a number of startup ideas In 1993, Sugars teamed up with author and entrepreneur, Robert Kiyosaki to teach marketing and business development strategies to Kiyosaki's students. The program was successful, leading Sugars to set up Action International in Brisbane in 1993. ActionCOACH is a finalist for the category "Best Overall Company of the Year (Up to 100 Employees)". Sugars is also a columnist for Entrepreneur.com. He has also published 14 books on business, such as the Instant Success Series which includes Successful Franchising and The Business Coach, published by McGraw Hill.
