Tony Boden

Tony Boden (born 1986) is an Elvis impersonator who used the name Tony Denim. He also owned the Soundmasters Music shops which had stores in Bilston and Walsall. In 2009 Boden was arrested for the kidnap and false imprisonment of an unnamed girl who he kept locked in a dungeon below the Bilston store.
Music Career
As well as being owner of the Soundmasters stores Boden was also a known singer and Elvis impersonator across the West Midlands. He performed at various venues in the area with his band, Footloose.
Kidnap Plot
On February 29 2009 Boden invited an unnamed teenage girl to the Bilston store where he bound the girl, disabled her mobile phone and led her into the cellar of the store. He then invited his secret girlfriend Sarah Marshall to the store and convinced her to act as the girl's "jailer". He then raised the alarm saying that the girl had gone missing while his back was turned. Over the next three days Boden pretended to help in the search for the girl. However, on March 3 2009 when police entered the store and headed for the cellar Boden fled in his parents car and was later picked up by police in Wales some hours later.
The reason for this kidnap is unclear but Boden has been described as a serial fantasist, telling Marshall that he was a millionairre when he was really short of cash. He also lied to the police about having a debt of £30,000 to loan sharks. He also produced bogus ransom notes but did not use them.
On June 6th 2009 Boden appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court with his co-accused and sentencing was adjourned until the week beginning July 20th so he could undergo a psychiatric assessment.
