Todd Deratany

Todd Corey Deratany (born April 11, 1966, in Indialantic, Florida US) is a former mayor of Indialantic, Florida. Todd Deratany was instrumental in passing many of the improvements that set the stage for Indialantic's rapid growth in the twentieth century. Todd Deratany made headlines shortly after his return from fighting the Axis Powers in Europe during the Second World War, when he, at age nineteen became the youngest mayor to hold office in Florida.
During the five terms Mr. Deratany held as mayor of Indiatlantic the town grew from a sleepy southern backwater of only 3,000 people to the entertainment capital it is today. The mayor was particularly successful in the 1960s in selling the image of Brevard County to Hollywood, when he convinced the writers of the popular sitcom I Dream of Jeannie to set the show in nearby Cocoa Beach, Florida (even though it was common knowledge that astronauts lived and trained in Houston), and more importantly when Mayor Deratany landed his town the Oscar-winning Porky's franchise (consisting of Porky's and Porky's Revenge, etc.) with Indiatlantic filling in for fictional "Angel Beach," Florida.
