It is through this site that Patterson has become acquaintances with most of the surviving cast and crew of I Dream of Jeannie and is considered one of the foremost experts of the 1960's sitcom. In 1998 Patterson began working with Ray Productions, an Orlando based production company that specializes in haunted attractions. September of 1998 Patterson met Cassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark) for the first time. It was at this time Patterson became the first authorized Elvira look-alike to appear at an Elvira endorsed public attraction. In 1999 Patterson began working in set design, prop fabrication and special effects make-up. Since this time some of Pattersons designs and work have been seen at Busch Gardens Florida as well as New Line Cinema's House of Horror for the initial design and creation of the Top Horror Icons Freddy Krueger Jason Voorhees and Leatherface in their own themed Haunted Houses. Patterson Becomes Elvira's Twin From 1998 to 2002 Patterson made hundreds of appearances as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Each appearance he made was disclaimed as an impersonator or look-a-like. With recognition in spoken word only from Cassandra Peterson all appearances were billed as 'officially recognized' to prevent confusion or infringement. In 2002 Patterson 'retired' as Elvira after five years by appearing with Cassandra Peterson in Elvira 'drag' at the Atlanta Premiere of her second full length motion picture Elvira's Haunted Hills. The premiere helped raise enough money for Project Open Hand to produce over 200 meals for individuals suffering/diagnosed with HIV. The appearance was covered and advertised in various publications including Creative Loafing. In April 2006 he was asked by Cassandra to join her on her reality show The Search for the Next Elvira (which had yet to be picked up for production). It was at this time Patterson began impersonating Elvira again. However instead of billing as an Elvira impersonator he created the title "Elvira's Twin." Patterson states "It's a lot easier to differentiate right off the bat if it says Elvira's Twin. When you just say Elvira and put in small print 'look-alike' official or not, it can confuse people. I'm not trying to confuse anyone when it comes to Elvira hence the 'twin' part. I'm not a woman, I don't take hormones or anything to change my body. I look as much like Elvira as I can and the rest is all character. It's all make-up and costume. When you go at it that way, you tend to get a lot more people on board with it, than you would trying to convince people you're not only a real woman but you're Elvira." Currently Patterson is the highest paid Elvira look-alike in the country. With nearly ten thousand 'friends' on MySpace he ranks in the top 15 Drag performers in the United States. Beyond Elvira's Twin In 2006 Sony Pictures Home Entertainment commissioned Patterson as a copy writer, design consultant, cartoonist and photo restorationist for the development of the third through fifth season DVD boxed sets for I Dream of Jeannie. His cartoon artwork of the recognizable bottle, and lead characters can be seen on all three box sets as well as the episodic synopsis' for each season. The summer of 2007 Patterson uprooted from his home in Atlanta to move to Hollywood, California. Since his arrival in Hollywood Patterson has gone on from working with Cassandra Peterson to do appearances on the Fox Series "Journey Man" to "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" the Sandra Bullock film "All About Steve" among others. In December of 2007 Patterson began hosting his own weekly Internet Talk Radio show entitled 'Wednesday Night LIVE.' With co-host Scott Courson (aka Circus Envy) Patterson's show covers current news, Hollywood gossip, an obscure movie of the week and paranormal discussion. Each show is guested by a celebrity guest. In 2008 Sony Pictures Home Entertainment comissioned Patterson serve as a consultant on the packaging and design for I Dream of Jeannie The Complete Series DVD Boxed Set. His work included recreating more cartoon elements from the show, as well as re-writing all 139 episode synopsis' and providing exclusive trivia points and restoring countless never-before-seen photos. He is credited on the inside packaging of the set, something that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has never done before.
