Emily Terrazas aka Amalia Terrazas

Amalia Terrazas (aka. Emily Terrazas) (born February 10, 1962) is an American artist, interactive designer, video producer, author, and former child actress.
Career
In Austin, Texas she began her television appearances in 1976 at age 14 in Carrascolendas, a children's national bilingual television show for PBS. This was followed in 1978-1980 when she joined the PBS television series Sonrisas. It was during the shooting of Sonrisas that Terrazas met Austin's most highly respected actresses, Mona Lee Fultz. By the series' end, Fultz had offered Amalia a full scholarship to her acting studio.
This experience cultivated Terrazas' talent but also sparked amazing personal growth for Terrazas. It was during these critical teenage years that Mona Lee Fultz became a guiding force and mentor to Amalia. As Terrazas continued working on her craft , she was voted 1979 "Outstanding Young Mexican American Woman of Austin - in Drama" by the Mexican American Professional Business Woman of Austin. It was during this time that Terrazas met yet another powerful icon by the name of Marta Cotera, a professor, activist, feminist icon and a prominent Chicana author. Cotera became her mentor and role model.
Terrazas continued to expand her skills through music and dance: In 1983, she joined the Road to Fame Dance Troupe in Austin, and in 1986 she was admitted to the Art Institute of Dallas where she majored in Visual Communications.
In 1993 Terrazas moved to Los Angeles and got involved in the film industry working as a scenic artist, production assistant, and 2nd Unit assistant director for commercial and film. This was when she discovered that she preferred to be behind the camera.
In 1996 Terrazas to work for Digital Domain's new media division as assistant to the art director in making CD-Rom games for Mattel's "Barbie Fashion Design", and twitch game title, "Ted Shred". She then joined the Walt Disney Imagineering's team as creative consultant and designer/producer for DisneyQuest, Disney's $80m theme parks in Orlando, Florida and Chicago, Illinois. She also helped design a line of toys used in the premiere attraction, "Sid's Create A Toy".
During an 8-month sabbatical, she wrote and illustrated her first children's book, "". She then served as Interactive Producer for Digital Entertainment Network (DEN) and Producer for iTV. She then started her own production company and began designing and producing marketing and promotional media for print, web and video, as well as producing her cable access show, "Star L.A."
At present, Terrazas continues to work on her children's books and to explore new ways to tell stories.
