Todd Cochrane (born June, 1964) is a technology writer and commentator. Todd is the CEO of RawVoice Inc . which includes several podcast networks. Blubrry, Tech Podcast Network, Podcaster News and PodcastFAQ.com. He writes and podcasts at Geek News Central Early life Todd was a member of the United States Navy. In 1988, he started a bulletin board system, which was moved to the internet in 1995. It served as both a gateway (mini ISP) to the Internet for his local community and served more than 20,000 users worldwide. In 1998, the dial-up portion of the BBS was discontinued but still continued as an Internet-only location. Career In 2002, Cochrane created Geek News Central, a technology-focused weblog and podcast. In May 2005, Cochrane's first book, entitled Podcasting: The Do it Yourself Guide, was published. In June 2005, founded the Annual' "People's Choice Podcast Awards". He is also the Founder of Podcast Connect Inc.and is a recently retired Senior Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy. Todd incorporated RawVoice in 2005 . PodcasterNews.com was first launched, featuring 5-minute podcasts, and the patent pending Mycast. Since then, RawVoice is the parent company to Tech Podcast Network, Blubrry, and hosts to vertical networks like ProMed Network and Travelcast Network. Tech Podcast Network To incorporate video and audio needs, Todd spun the Tech Podcast Network into 3 entities: TechPodcasts(2007), Techpodcasts.tv( and TPN.tv (2010).
