Master Chief Tudor was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in September 1962. Reared primarily in Danville, Kentucky, he graduated from Danville High School in 1980. On April 19, 1983, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After completion of Personnelman Class "A" School, he was detailed to USS AUSTIN (LPD 4) homeported in Norfolk, Virginia. During his tour in AUSTIN, Master Chief Tudor accomplished many feats including being selected as her Sailor of the Quarter; being the first Personnelman Navy-wide to qualify as a Search and Rescue (SAR) wetcrewman; and serving as a member of the Excavation Team after the October 1983 Marine Headquarters bombing in Beirut, Lebanon. Additionally, he was selected for appointment as a Midshipman in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC). Upon appointment, he reported to Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Holding various leadership positions in the NROTC battalion, he was also twice elected as Student Body President.
Recalled to active duty in June 1991, he was detailed to Personnel Support Activity Detachment, Keflavik, Iceland, where he served as Officer Records Supervisor and Administrative Division Leading Petty Officer. During his tour in Iceland, he cross-rated to Yeoman and also served as President, Branch #255, Fleet Reserve Association. He was selected as PSD Keflavik's Sailor of the Quarter and Sailor of the Year 1992. In April 1993 he reported to USS PETERSON (DD 969). During his tour as PETERSON's Ship's Secretary, Master Chief Tudor earned his qualification as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, was selected as her Sailor of the Quarter, and was elected as President of her First Class Petty Officers' Association.
After completion of Yeoman "C" School in August 1995, Master Chief Tudor next reported as Flagwriter to Rear Admiral Jay A. Campbell; Deputy Director, Plans and Policy Directorate; Headquarters, U.S. European Command, Vaihingen, Germany. While stationed in Germany, Master Chief Tudor was selected as European Command's Sailor of the Quarter and promoted to Chief Petty Officer. Additionally, he received his Bachelor of Science in Government from the University of Maryland. Next, in February 1998, Master Chief Tudor reported to Commander, Carrier Group SEVEN embarked in USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74), homeported in San Diego, California, where he continued to serve as Rear Admiral Campbell's Flagwriter. In January 2000, Master Chief Tudor began his service at U. S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida. He first served as Rear Admiral Campbell's Flagwriter while assigned to the Plans and Policy Directorate (CCJ5). During this tour he was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer and served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for CCJ5.
In January 2002, Master Chief Tudor was selected to serve as the Flagwriter for U.S. Army General Tommy R. Franks; Commander in Chief, U.S. Central Command. In April 2002, he graduated from the United States Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy in Montgomery, Alabama. In July 2003, U.S. Army General John P. Abizaid assumed the helm at U.S. Central Command, and Master Chief Tudor stayed in place as his Flagwriter. He was advanced to his current rank on October 16, 2004. In March 2007, United States Navy Admiral William J. Fallon assumed command of U.S. Central Command and retained Master Chief Tudor as his Flagwriter. Master Chief Tudor completed his Executive Juris Doctorate from Concord University School of Law in July 2007, and he retired from active duty on February 29, 2008.
During his sea duty, Master Chief Tudor has made all or part of four Mediterranean Sea deployments, one North Atlantic Ocean deployment, and participated in various operations in the Pacific Ocean and in the Caribbean and Red Seas. He has traveled extensively throughout the Central Command Area of Responsibility, including into the combat zones of Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Horn of Africa. He has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with two gold stars), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with two gold stars) along with various unit and campaign awards.
Master Chief Tudor is married to the former Paula Stahl, an Air Force Technical Sergeant. They reside in Riverview, Florida and have three children: Hannah, Alec, and Elle.
