Tima Shomali (born March 7, 1985) in Amman, Jordan, is a Jordanian producer, screenwriter, and actress/ Comedian. She is also the founder of the Jordan-based production company—Filmizion Productions. She was the first female in Jordan to have her own YouTube show, called FemaleShow, in which she discussed important social issues faced by the Jordanian public, in a comic way. It was the same show that rendered her one of the leading figures on YouTube in Jordan and the Middle East. Early Life and education As a child, Tima was always fascinated by arts and the world of film-making, especially screenwriting. She used to always carry a home camera around with her, shooting anything she found interesting. When she finally graduated from high school, she wanted to pursue a career in film making, but she could not find a suitable film making university in Amman. So, she went on to get a BA in Business Management with a minor in Finance in the university of Jordan. Despite the change in her plans, she continued writing. She, later, came across The Royal Film Commission in Jordan where she attended extensive film-making workshops until she was able to produce and direct her very first short movie. With that movie, she was finally able to apply to The Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts, where she received an MA in writing and producing. ==== One of the first jobs Tima landed was in the formerly online-based, Jordanian, comedy show . This particular working experience is one of Tima's favorite ones since it was her first on-screen appearance. She was chosen as a screenwriter and lead female actress in the 2011 season of the show. , then turned from being an online show into being aired on several different channels Roya TV, OSN Female Show In 2012, Tima started her first satirical, social, online, comedy show under the production of her own company Filmizion Productions, in association with Kharabeesh. The show, called "Female Show" was the first online-based show in Jordan starring a female character. The first season of the show revolves around all the complications accompanying a couple (Tima and Raja'i) in love who are soon to be engaged. The first season was a success in Jordan and the Middle East. Female Show is the most viewed show in Jordan and the show's YouTube Channel has more than 20 million views. In Ramadan, each episode would reach an average of a quarter of a million views after being uploaded for 48 hours. This local and regional success of the show, got it extended into a second season, and moved it from being an online show to being aired on Jordan's Roya TV as well. Zein Tima's work is not limited to comedy. She has extended her work to drama as well. In 2013, She produced and acted in an Arabic TV series, , which got aired on MBC and Abu Dhabi TV in December of that year.
