Tim the Bear is a regular character on the Family Guy spin-off television program The Cleveland Show. He is regularly seen in a group at "The Broken Stool" with Cleveland, Holt and Lester, in similar fashion to Peter, Joe, Quagmire and Cleveland at "The Drunken Clam" on Family Guy. He is voiced by series co-creator Seth MacFarlane. Background Tim is one of Cleveland and Donna's neighbors in Stoolbend, Virginia that just happens to be a bear. He has deep religious convictions and lives with his wife Arianna and son Raymond. He becomes Cleveland's drinking buddy at The Broken Stool, where he also converses with Holt and Lester. He smokes in secret, as he asks Cleveland not to tell his wife about it. He also has a very deep Southeastern European (close to Albanian) accent with rough "r"s and several vowel elongations. His wife is voiced by Arianna Huffington and speaks in her native Greek accent. Despite the difficulties Cleveland faces in truth-telling, he accepts Tim's advice to be honest with his family. When asked, in his first appearance, why he lives in a house instead of in the woods like most bears, Tim explained that it was hard to "keep up with the rat race" in the woods. Religious beliefs Tim is a Christian, although he would not be considered preachy, he does often resort to giving religious advice or comparisons, typically near the end of a conversation. In the "Pilot" episode of The Cleveland Show, during his first meeting with Cleveland Brown he ends his conversation with "May the peace of Jesus Christ be with you" and makes the shape of a cross with his paw. In the second episode, "Da Doggone Daddy-Daughter Dinner Dance", the guys are at "The Broken Stool" bar talking about looking for the stepchildren's dog. After it is discovered that the dog was accidentally run over and intentionally eaten by rednecks, Cleveland chooses to lie. Tim then asks him if he is going to "build his family's foundation on rock, or on the quicksand." (a reference to Matthew 7:24) When Cleveland replies that he wants to build it on rock Tim replies, "Then Jesus would say you have to confess everything, be brutally honest, don't leave out any details. Even though back then Jesus was a carpenter ... back then it was a better job ... carpentry is all about details." In the episode "Birth of a Salesman", after Tim gets Cleveland a job where he works, and gains employee of the week, Tim, in a fit of jealousy, prays to Jesus for something bad to happen to Cleveland. After Cleveland gets into trouble, Tim later apologizes to Cleveland believing it to be his fault.
