Evestus (Ott Evestus) electronic solo career was first introduced to the public in 2004, whilst still performing as a vocalist in Project Solwaig (2001) and filling the percussionist duties for death-beat group Forgotten Sunrise. The successful launch of Evestus’ premiere solo album Destiny in Life laid ground for further co-operation with Canada’s DTrash records. This combined effort gave way to Wastelands - “a more in-depth and thorough expression, a hazy and multi-layered work of contemplative avant-garde industrial-electronica which ran deeper and more intensely emotional than any previous Evestus’ material.” After the towering success of Wastelands, (7/10 Virus Magazine, 7.5/10 Terrorizer, 9/10 Connexion Bizarre, 4/5 ReGenMag.com), Evestus, determined to take the third album further than any preceding work, picked up the pen and pencil and blew the dust off his microphone. The tight-lipped 2006 and 2007 were spent researching music and lifestyles, expanding the studio, auditioning and experimenting with live instrumentalists. Ventures in the Baltics and Finland were a test ground for sound setups and clinching the best of any venue. Besides random remixes done for DTrash records (featuring on the DTrash tribute to Atari Teenage Riot among other things) and producing for Estonian hip-hop artist , Evestus’ was laser-focused on putting together the blueprints of what is to become a monumental industrial/gothic album of the decade... Recent Spring 2008 marked the beginning of the Dramatic Era for an Estonian based industrial composer/songwriter Evestus as Sacrifice, his first single from a genre defining third album "This Is Dramacore" (TBA 2009), made its way to Baltic MTV. It may seem that this 24-year-old (from an Ex-Soviet country!), is reaching for a spot way out of his league in the world of (alternative) music... However, his confidence and drive raise uncertainty even among the biggest of skeptics out there. Sacrifice single includes a "radio edit" of the original track, 8 remixes by the likes of Team Cybergeist (US), Kirdec (BEL) and Apocryphal Superorganism (CAN) and even a mix by Evestus himself. The single was released on June 4; it was accompanied by a video that made its way to Baltic MTV (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) as an exclusive, landing on #15 on its first week on MTV’s Baltic TOP 20 where the video stayed for 6 weeks. Regenmag.com also gave this single a great review! In November 2008, Evestus was asked to represent the line of industrial music when MTV and Nokia launched a Nokia Comes with Music campaign. Evestus presented a lecture concerning the history and concept of Industrial music at Baltic Film and Media College in Tallinn, Estonia . On December 8, 2008 Evestus’ second single/video entered Baltic MTV’s play list as an “Exclusive” and will candidate for Top 20 and Rock chart on the following week. His latest work has been on a new album called "This Is Dramacore" scheduled for release April 29. 2010 "This Is Dramacore" will include the following tracks: "Sacrifice"(remix), "You're not good enough to be my Enemy"(remix), "Demons of Fame", "Dramacore", "Nothing", "Dramajunkie", "Pikachu Warriors", "All the Kings Drugs" , "So In Love", "Smile", and "Gone" As well as a few unannounced songs. Current Line-Up * Evestus - Vocals * Ricardo Guerilha - lead guitar/bass * Jan Talts - Rhythm guitar/bass * Georg Gurjev - Keyboards * Tanya VulcanM61 - Percussion * C-Jam - 4 cellos * Romet Pott - Sound Engineer (studio+live) Although perfectly capable of giving live shows on his own (thanks to extensive live experience with previous position as a frontman in Solwaig), Evestus has put together a live group consisting of two guitars, keyboards, percussions and additional support by an Estonian Cello quartet C-Jam. Evestus has always put a great deal of effort into making the best and grandest live performances possible. Proof of these can be found on video footage from his recent shows that are available through Evestus’ official YouTube channel - www.youtube.com/evestus. Evestus also has another live group waiting for orders in London, consisting of mainly live percussions.
