The White Ravens

The White Ravens are an indie rock band from Ann Arbor, Michigan, featuring brother/sister singer songwriters, Amy and Will Bennett. Amy and Will are currently 18 and 17 years old and formed their band over five years ago. Will composes the music and plays piano and guitar. Amy writes the lyrics, sings, and plays bass. They have received over 70 awards on GarageBand.com for their songs.
They released their first CD, The White Ravens, in 2007, with veteran drummer Muruga Booker. They have been interviewed by two Ann Arbor radio stations, 107one, WQKL, and WCBN, and have received airplay on WCBN, the University of Michigan's student run radio station. A song collaboration with UK artist Andy Johnson entitled "One Thing" was played across the UK on BBC alternative radio, BBC 6 Music. They have been written up in The Ann Arbor News and there is a video of them with Muruga on the Ann Arbor News website (see links below).
Their second full CD, Gargoyles and Weather Vanes, was released July 6, 2010. It was recorded at Ghetto Recorders in August 2009 and 2010 by Jim Diamond, who recorded the first two White Stripes CDs, and is scheduled to be released in October 2009. It features the drumming of Liberty DeVitto, Billy Joel's drummer of 30 years.
Since September 2009, they have been playing live with drummer Vince Russo and guitarist Andrew Brown. In May 2010, they performed across Canada on Toronto's Breakfast Television. In July 2010, they were declared winners for Best Foreign/Best Out of Province Band by the Toronto Independent Music Awards.
