The Robert Culp Effect

The Robert Culp Effect is an occurance where 2 things may be happening at the same time close to each other and you are unsure which one to watch and while you are trying to watch both you actually dont really see much at all.
This can happen if watching a football match in a bar and there is another match on another television and while trying to watch both games you actually miss a lot of the action.
The term comes from a scene from the TV show Columbo, where actor Robert Culp commits a crime and the way the director chooses to show you how he cleaned up crime scene was to show images on each lens of Robert Culp's glasses but while trying to watch one lens you miss things happening in other lens, so you are left a bit unclear as to what occured. From Columbo episode "Death Lends A Hand."
This phrase is being used now and this is a help point to continue it and build the use of this effect.
