Corporate Social Responsibility
The Language Factory operates using a paperless office system where possible. All print consumables, kitchen, electronic and other waste are recycled.
The Language Factory has actively supported and partnered with both Oxfam and MicroLoan Foundation for the past 10 years. Specifically, The Language Factory has contributed to Oxfam’s Enterprise Development Programme (EDP), which aims to support small rural enterprises which create employment for women, in places financial institutions do not reach. They have also contributed funding for projects to help prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS among women and children in South Africa.
In addition, The Language Factory supports the Microloan Foundation’s objective to assist the poorest women in rural Africa to help themselves and their families out of poverty. The Microloan Foundation does this by providing loans, mentoring and support to people who would otherwise have no access to financial services, allowing individuals to run businesses and pay for food and education.
The Language Factory is committed to raising £1,000,000 to support women in developing countries via these two charities.
