The Kingdom of Perpetual Muin

The Kingdom of Perpetual Muin is an esoteric artistic movement which began in Glasgow Scotland, in the late stages of 2008. The word Muin literally means the Letter "M." It comes from the Gaelic alphabet of Ogham. Representing the name of the founder Em (artist Michelle D Hannah's alter ego).Muin, according to legend their once existed an ancient Kingdom of Mu, but disappeared at the dawn of human history. The movement's main focus is the guidance and handling of the Artist in relationship to itself, others, it's image and all forms of life across the Universe, based around the teachings of Aliester Crowley and the alphabet of Daggers. The alphabet of Daggers first appeared in Aleister Crowley's book The Vision And The Voice . Muin's philosophy comprises a body of knowledge extending from certain fundamental art truths based upon the belief that the artist is an immortal spiritual being. That their capabilities are unlimited, an Artist is able to not only solve problems, accomplish goals and gain lasting happiness, but also achieve new, higher states of awareness and ability.
The Kingdom of Muin takes its influences from a varied background, included in this is the angelic conversations of Dr John Dee, the popular conception of symbolism in the films of Kenneth Anger and Derek Jarman, the sanctification of the female image by the french artist Orlan Taking inspiration also from the worlds of Scientology the internet group of Anonymous and goth culture the movement recruits members through its extensive website, facebook and via promotional events - the largest of which to date took place on 17 June 2009 at , Glasgow.
The Kingdom of Perpetual Muin is a growing art project by the Scottish artist Michelle Dawn Hannah []. Past events include a Kingdom of Muin screening at the Centre of Contemporary Arts in Glasgow , Kingdom of Muin propaganda work shown as part of the 'Are the Kid's Alright?' Exhibition in Leipzig in April 2009. The official promotional event at Tramway formed part of the MFA Degree Show, showing the work of the graduating students of the Master of Fine Art Degree at Glasgow School of Art, which included the founder of Muin: Michelle D Hannah.
