The KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum

The KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum is an annual political and strategic conference for the petroleum and energy sector of the Republic of Kazakhsta and the Caspian region. Conferences are held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The forum unites heads of government agencies from various countries, the worlds's major multi-national energy corporations, and world energy industry experts to confer about significant industry issues for Eurasia, the geopolitics of Eurasian energy and the world. The forum agenda includes plenary discussion panels, round tables, sessions, thematic seminars and the KAZENERGY youth forum. Topics also include sustainable development, new technologies, technological innovation, nuclear energy, renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal, energy efficiency and ecological safety.
The Republic of Kazakhstan's western oil field, next to the Caspian Sea, contains an estimated 10 billion or more reserves that are recoverable. This number is significant, per oil industry standards that deem a one billion barrel field as a "supergiant". Timur Kulibayev, the Chairman of Kazenergy believes that Kazakhstan can be one of the top-5 largest oil suppliers in the world. Annually, about 1000 delegates from about 40 countries attend the KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum in Astana. The first KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum started at 2006.
Organization
The forum is founded by the KAZENERGY Association, which unites over 50 major businesses and organizations in the petroleum, natural gas and energy business involved in energy extraction, transportation, servicing, geophysical science, uranium-production, as well as other transnational companies. Chevron Corporation, an American multinational energy corporation headquartered in San Ramon, California, United States and active in more than 180 countries, is a "gold" sponsor of the forum.
A significant challenge of the association is to promote the creation of favorable conditions for the dynamic and sustainable development of the fuel and energy sector for the Republic of Kazakhstan.
