The Football-Weekly is a weekly sports podcast produced in Brighton, UK broadcast weekly on Radio Free Brighton covering football related topics around the world. Hosted by Johnny Tydeman, who is usually joined by Ned Lloyd and Jonathan Haney, the show airs on Wednesday's at 5:30 pm and typically runs for 30 minutes. The show usually provides an irreverent viewpoint on the sporting issues of the week. Format The Show begins with the Football-Weekly jingle, created by Johnny's brother Henry which is sometimes preceded by famous footballers speaking. The host Johnny then introduces the panel individually before asking a question based on a recent event which each host answers, before the winner being chosen by Johnny. Listeners also have a chance to text or email in at this point. After the first track, the usual Premier League, Champions League and International Round up takes place with Johnny reading out scores and the whole of the team commenting on. They also have a strong Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. focus. After the second track, the regular features of "Ned's Nuggets" and "Haney Opinionated" takes place, where each host discusses a topic that they feel strongly about, with insights from the rest of the team. After the third track comes the predictions round where Johnny reads out games coming up with Jonathan and Ned commenting promptly. After the fourth track the pundits say their goodbye's and the show usually ends with the song You Sexy Thing sung by the the band to which the lyrics "I believe in Miracles, where you from? You sexy thing" are replaced with "Tune in to Football Weekly, on Wednesday's, at 5:30's". The show's format differs from time to time. Reception The Football-Weekly have a cult following in their popularity instead of national interest, with the majority of their support coming from in and around the Brighton, UK area. Controversy The show was incurred a few controversial moments so far in its short existence. Usually due to Johnny, the show sometimes contains explicit swearing and sexual references despite airing before the period. Another time Jonathan and Ned had a fuelled argument over which each presenter accused the other of trying to drop each other "in it" by asking obscure questions. On this moment, Johnny jokingly added: "I tried to turn the mic's on at this moment to catch this golden moment, but Jonathan caught me!". On the 24th November 2011, Johnny also advertised the Teen Verdict Award Company and plugged new book which resulted in punishment by the station.
