computer animated film being produced by Walsh Family Media. The film will be the company's first feature length release. The official movie release date has not yet been announced. The film is written, directed and produced by Patrick M. Walsh Jr.
Premise
The Cool Beans: We Need a Hit is set in a miniature world (The Garden) constructed of everyday objects from the human world assembled to resemble a tiny New York City. The story follows two rival bands, The Cool Beans and the Bad Seeds as they compete for a record contract with Marigold Records headed by The Kernel. After a failed side venture selling kazoos, the once unstoppable Kernel who has not produced a hit record in 2 years finds himself drowning in debt and facing a hostile takeover by Sammy "The Wing" Crowbono and his crow henchmen. The Kernel is met with the ultimatum that he must find the garden's next hit by the end of the day or lose control of his musical empire that he built from the ground up. To complicate matters, The Cool Bean's only master recording is stolen by The Bad Seedz to increase their own chances of getting signed by the Kernel's record label. With the end of the day fast approaching everyone wants to get their hands on The Cool Beans missing tape.
Development
The Cool Beans: We Need a Hit was originally conceived as a short film, serving as a trailer to original screenplay The Cool Beans: Humbucket Caper written in the nineties. The original format ran only 4 minutes and established the background of some of the Humbucket Caper's main characters. Production of We Need a Hit began in 2006 and the production of Humbucket Caper, then well into development was temporarily halted to produce the short film. As production on the short progressed, Walsh Family Media decided to further develop the back story and release The Cool Beans: We Need a Hit as a full length CG feature film. The Cool Beans: Humbucket Caper would be released as the company's second feature length film and serve as a sequel to We Need a Hit. Voice casting has not yet been announced.

Though no release date has been set for The Cool Beans: We Need a Hit, Walsh Family Media has begun early marketing efforts in the NYC area. In September 2009, Walsh Family Media's began poster sales out of the Bean Machine, the company's van painted with images of the characters from the film, hoping to create a buzz around the independent movie.
