The Chimerical

The Chimerical are an English Grunge/Rock band formed in Bath, Somerset in 2010. The band consists of School friends Laurie Boxley (Guitar, Vocals) Lewis Treasure (Bass, Vocals) and Joe Chalk (Drums). The band is often described as a blend of the heavy and raw Grunge sound of the 90's cross between the Britpop sound of the same decade. The Chimerical gained much of its popularity through the Social Networking website Twitter and currently boasts over 20,000 followers on the site.
Formation/Background:
The band formed at the City of Bath College on the colleges BA1 Records Label, the band continually toured throughout the South of the UK for around a year before playing their first international dates in Europe over the Spring and Summer of 2012. The band have recorded and released a self titled EP and a debut album (Hurricane Girl) between 2011 and 2012, only 1,000 copies of their debut EP were made (not enough to chart) and their debut album which was released six months later peaked #76 in the UK charts. The Chimerical's songs 'I'm Alive' and 'Close your eyes' have been a popular choice for Radio stations, having been aired in the UK, Spain, France, The Netherlands, USA, Australia and Mexico, the band have also performed live radio sessions in the UK. The bands songs have also been aired on a Latin television sportshow and a British extreme biking TV show. In Spring 2012 the band made it clear they were in negotiations with a Hollywood publishing firm regarding their songs being used in U.S Films and TV shows.
Future recordings/Touring:
The Chimerical stated they are about to record a second studio album over the later part of 2012 which will be much more highly produced than their previous recordings. They state this recording will include orchestral instruments, a choir and female soul music style backing vocals.
There are also rumours of the band touring and showcasing their music in America, particularly in Los Angeles over 2013.

Trivia:
Front man Laurie Boxley attended the same music course at Bath College as youtube artist Gabrielle Aplin.
Bassist Lewis Treasure is the son of Bruce Treasure, the lead Guitarist for the British Band Subhumans.
