The Brigade

The Brigade is a collective of Philadelphia producers that consists of Michael Patrick, Thomas Kee, Theodore Nelson and Frederic Freeman that formed in mid 2004 with a common goal of creating heavy, innovative, dance-floor drum and bass. Half a year after The Brigade's conception their first release was brought forth. It was an A-side for a brand new label - World of Drum and Bass, owned by one of the forefathers of Drum and Bass, DJ SS. The track was entitled "Rowdy", featuring vocalist Shannon Swain. The vibe of the tune had The Brigade written all over it. Philadelphia's prominent production company Substitution named its Thursday night weekly after the track, and with the Brigade in residency, alongside Dara and Nate Day, it did nothing but live up to its name. The Brigade is associated with record labels: World of Drum and Bass, Zeropoint and Sugar Coded .
From Knowledge Magazinge, June 2005, Dj Silvers track-by-track guide through the issues killer cover CD mentioned The Brigade as "Brand new outfit coming from Philly, USA. These guys are another new crew to look out for in 2005/2006. Loads of energy and style in their music - what else could you ask for?!" and also "The Brigade really know how to start the party. These guys are gonna kill it in 06, trus' me. Heres a little taster of what to come from them cats. True party anthems - you have been warned!"
Review from DJ magazine yet to be retrieved.
The Brigade has and continues to Dj throughout the United States on a regular basis.
Unrelated: For a period in the late 1980's the punk band Youth Brigate changed their name to the Brigade.
