The Anvil Group 'a Crisis Avoidance Service' is an employee owned risk consultancy and information research and technology development company that supports, advises, enables and empowers governments, corporations, organisations and individuals in hostile and demanding environments. The Anvil Group has headquarters in London, UK with offices located in Northern Ireland, USA, Canada and Switzerland, The Anvil Group was incorporated by Derek Humble a decorated British Royal Marine in North America in 1988 and developed its core business components as Crisis Avoidance Services, specialising in proactive personal protection internationally. With Humble’s leadership The Anvil Group developed as a market leader with rapid growth in personal protection and Information Technology with operations globally on all continents. Humble head hunted several specialists to incorporate offices in the UK, Northern Ireland, USA, Russia, Australia and Singapore, one of those individuals was John Greenslade a former British Intelligence officer with MI5 and later an operations director of Amila UK a specialist risk consultancy service.

In 2003, members of the management team led by Greenslade, negotiated a hostile but successful buyout of The Anvil Group and became an independent employee owned company. Currently, the company is 100% owned by its employees. Later in 2003 the group added an information technology and research division, specialising in Travel Risk Intelligence Solutions TRIS and Employee Travel Monitoring Solution ETMS . With the latest addition to The Anvil Group of the North American office they have 20 full-time staff in 6 offices internationally with in excess of 500 contractors located around the world . The Majority of their clients are large multi-national corporations from the Fortune 1000 and the FT 500.

Since 1988 The Anvil Group has been operational with Fortune 1000 and FT 500 companies in 92 countries.
