The 4th Chapter

The 4th Chapter is the debut EP by American musican, singer/songwriter, producer and rapper Jared Evan. It was released on June 26, 2012 independent from Jared's record label Interscope. The album includes production from Illmind, Illfactor and Jared Evan himself. The album was praised by several top tier critics and magazines upon its release such as , Vibe, Okayplayer and others.
Background
The 4th Chapter Was released on June 26, 2012. Originally intended as a free download, within just hours of its release the EP reached #67 on the Hip Hop/Rap Top 200 Itunes charts.<ref name="apple1"/> The album was initially intended to be Jared Evan's major label Interscope debut, but after setbacks and complications with his label, Jared decided to create mostly new tracks and shorten the album, turning it into an EP and releasing it on his own independently. The title track "4th Chapter" was created while Jared was down in Miami working with veteran engineer and producer Jimmy Douglass. It was at Jimmy's studio where Jared then conceived the idea for the rest of the album.
Singles
"Charlie Brown" was released as the first single a month prior before the EP came out. The song eventually went on to become one of Jared's most popular songs and created a strong Anti-Bully movement among his fans. The song was praised by many critics and several taste-makers within the music industry. The video for the song portrays Jared as a child, reflecting upon his youth and the struggles in which he encountered growing up. The video was covered by AOL, Vibe and others. "One Good Thing" was the second single released off of the EP. The song instantly became a fan favorite, getting heavy pick up online and being featured in several music outlets such as Fuse, The Hype Machine and more.
