Eric Schlager

Eric Dean Schlager (born c. 1964) is Chief Executive Officer of The Bulfinch Companies, Inc. He is the grandson of Samuel W. Poorvu, the founder of The Bulfinch Companies, a privately held real estate firm headquartered in Needham, Massachusetts.

Civic life
Eric Schlager currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Industrial & Office Properties (NAIOP) in Massachusetts, where he was past chairman & president.
He is co-chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Brigham & Women's Hospital (an affiliate of [). He is a member, research sponsor, and Ballard Lunch speaker at the Zell-Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he endowed the Eric & Beth Schlager Lecture Series on Real Estate Entrepreneurship.
He chaired the 2012 Real Estate Construction & Design Annual Dinner for the Combined Jewish Philanthropies (Boston). Mr. Schlager formerly served on the Board of Trustees of The Fessenden School and The Wellness Center.

He serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Charter Insurance Company, is president of the Schlager Family Foundation., and is a supporter of the Pan-Mass challenge of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Mr. Schlager has been a guest-lecturer at the MIT Center for Real Estate and the Urban Land Institute.
Personal life
Schlager is married to Beth Cherashore Schlager and the couple have 4 children. He is a 1979 graduate of The Fessenden School in Newton, Massachusetts, a 1982 graduate of the in Concord, New Hampshire, and earned an undergraduate degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. Mr. Schlager is also a cyclist and has participated in the Tour De France.
Mrs. Schlager served as a Northeast Region Associate Alumni Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania from 1994 to 1997. and was appointed by the Board of Selectman for the Town of Weston (Commonwealth of Massachusetts) to serve on the Weston Cultural Council in 2007.
Their son, Andrew, was the 2012 commencement speaker at Phillips Academy in Andover. The family resides in Weston, Massachusetts.
