Nathan S. Collier

Nathan S. Collier (born May 11, 1952) is an American real estate investor. Operating under The Collier Companies and The Paradigm Group umbrellas, Nathan S. Collier' owns and manages close to 10,000 apartments throughout north and central Florida and in Oklahoma. He is the largest multifamily owner in Gainesville, Florida, home of the University of Florida, the state’s flagship university.
Collier was born in Dodge City, Kansas, on May 11, 1952. He spent his youth in South America and South Florida before moving with his family to Gainesville, Florida.
He has endowed the Nathan S. Collier Master of Science in Real Estate program at the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Administration, where he regularly teaches as an adjunct professor. He is lead author of Construction Funding, The Process of Real Estate Development, Appraisal, and Finance, published by John Wiley & Sons and now in its fourth edition.
Collier is a life member of the University of Florida Foundation and on the executive committee of Gator Boosters, Inc. and the National Multi Housing Council, where he serves as chair of the Student Housing Committee. He is on the board of U.F.’s Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies, is a member of the National Association of Home Builders Multifamily Council and Urban Land Institute, and is active in World Presidents’ Organization.
