Hunni Bunnis are a British girlband who formed in 1999 in Reading, Berkshire. In 10 years they had 6 albums and 21 singles. They sold over 110,000 albums in the UK. Beginnings (1999) There were close friends by meeting at school who often met up after school. One night they were having a karoke night and they relised they could all sing well so formed the Hunni Bunnis. However not really taking real action until the following year. Barefoot (2000-2001) In mid 2000 they went to audition in front of a record label with support from their parents to attempt a record deal, they impressed and got their dream of having a record deal. Work on the album started in the fall of 2000 with the girls writing some songs along with top producers. After 7 drafts of the album the label were pleased and began promoting it. In April they released their debut song "Hunni Bunni" (a version of Sugar Sugar) in the UK and Ireland but failing to get into either Top 100. The album was due release in May but was pushed back until July to promote the album more. Their second song "Barefoot" was released in June in the UK only and managed to get good reviews from newspapers but failed to sell big only getting to No.69. The album was released in late July in the UK selling just over 1,000 copies and being placed at number 84 in the chart. Their label had tough talks with the band and told them they had one last chance by releasing "Happy Faces" with did not help by failing to enter the UK Top 100. In late 2001 they were dropped by their label. Two Album Deal, At Last and Maybe (2003-2005) After a while being unsigned the band got a two album deal in the spring of 2003. They worked on their album for a year with local songwriters and producers. When the album was complete they released 5 singles off the album (Hello Again, It Felt Good, At Last, Oh Baby and Lick Me). In August 2004 their second studio album "At Last" hit the shelves and sold around 25,000 copies. When they had finished with "At Last" they straight away begun work on a follow up bringing in big names to write and produce a new album. In June 2005 their label pushed an early release as they wanted them to become big with this album but keep their name 'out there'. "Maybe" was released Oct 2005 spawning 5 singles "On The Beach", "Uh, Huh", "Maybe", "Rock It" and "Watch It". Maybe was their biggest selling album selling around 38,000 copies. In December 2005 the girls toured the UK playing in small theatres with their "HB 4eva Tour". == Loss Of Two Members and "In Memory Of" (2006) == At the beginning of 2006 their label signed them on for one last go at getting big. The girls eagerly began their fourth studio album with many who had worked on their previous album. With a solid half album finished Rachel Jones died from heart failure in May. The band halted the making of the next album and even considered splitting because the band would never be the same. However they decided to stay together as Rachel would have wanted them to. They scraped the plans for their original fourth album and begun working on some songs dedicated to the deceased member. In November 2006 they released "In Memory Of...:Greatest Hits" with 5 brand new songs and one release, a cover of Spice Girls Viva Forever. In the beginning of December they were dropped from their label as they had frequent arguments between the band and between the band and the label. On December the 22nd Millie quit the band as she felt they never had and never will have any sucsess. HB 4eva (2007-2008) Now two members had gone and they had yet again been dropped by their record label they decided to release their fifth album by themselves. They began working on a new album going for a more dance and ravey type of music. Recording took place between April and July 2007 with over 50 songs being recorded and mixed. But when it came to making the final draft there were frequent arguments and the band split. However two months later in September the girls got back together (not Millie) and somehow made the final draft. With first intentions of the album being released December 2007 they pushed it back until March 2008. The album sold over 15,000 copies and spawned 4 singles; "All Over Again", "This is how it is", "Call Me On The Phone" and "Together Forever". In May and Jun 2008 the girls toured the UK on their "HB 4eva Still Tour". Covered In Hunni and Loss of Another Member (2008-2009) After preferring their new sound the band began a similar album to the previous. By the fall of 2008 they had completed their sixth album called Covered In Hunni. The first song "Sexxii" was released in January 2009 peaking at No.55 and the next song "Don't Need You" peaked at No.77. The album was released in April and sold a disappointing 2,000 copies. On May 17th (the same day Rachel Jones died) Jodie Root quit the band after she felt bullied by the others and not letting her make any decisions on the last two albums and that she now knows why Millie left because she also thinks the band is not successful. After Jodie leaving it left only three members who decided not to make any more singles out of "Covered In Honey". Split Now with only three members and no desire to fill the places. The girls as a group decided they had had their day. They stated "We never had any real sucsess and band members going all the time. We probably aren't going to break anywhere because we've tried and tried its never going to happen." They had a small tour called "The HB (1999-2009) Tour". And released a one off single called "I Gotta Say Goodbye", which was a strong power ballad. On October 23rd 2009 the band officially split. Discography hunni Bunnis Discography
