"Put Your Hearts Up" is the debut single of American singer and actress Ariana Grande. The song premiered on Ryan Seacrest's radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM on December 9th.
Recording and writing
Grande wrote the song with Linda Perry for Grande's upcoming debut album set to be released in early 2012. The single samples the "Hey Yey Yey" part from the song, "" written by Perry from 4 Non Blondes' debut album as an ode. This is Grande's first time for writing a song. She said that it was a great thing to be working with many great songwriters and it was great to do something other than her role in Victorious.
Release and cover
Ariana let her fans be a part of choosing the single artwork by sharing four possible covers for the single on her Twitter. After the fans voted, this cover was chosen and the release date for "Put Your Hearts Up" was also revealed via her Twitter account on November 29, 2011. "Put Your Hearts Up" was originally set to be released on December 20, 2011, but was later approved to be released earlier. It premiered on iTunes on December 12, 2011.
Music video
The music video for "Put Your Hearts Up" was shot on November 23, 2011. It was directed by Meiert Avis and Jeremy Alter. It will premiere soon.
