Thai Airways Flight 679

Thai Airways International Flight 679 was a scheduled flight from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to Suvarnabhumi International Airport. On September 8, 2013, the aircraft flying this route, a Thai Airways International Airbus A330-300 overshot the runway 19L at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport after the landing gear failed to deploy. All passengers and crew were successfully evacuated with only 12 people suffering injuries.
Aircraft
The aircraft involved in the incident was an Airbus A330-300, registered as HS-TEF. The aircraft was built and delivered in 1995. The airplane was named Song Dao.
It was powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines.
Crash
The aircraft was on approach to runway 19L at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, when it crashed and veered off the runway. The airline reported that when it touched the nose gear caused a disruption which caused it to veer off the runway. Everyone onboard survived with only 12 receiving minor injuries. The airport temporarily closed after the crash
Investigation
The incident is currently being investigated by the Thailand Department Of Civil Aviation.
