</noinclude> == Textologist (\tekst-ol-o-jist\, noun) == A textologist is an individual that specializes in the development of Short Message Service (SMS) messaging that uses the cell phone exclusively as the delivery technology. It is a focused approach to reach a specific group of cell phone users (aka mobiles) for the purpose of conveying lifestyle relevant information or specially designed marketing messages( A textologist in teh context of this definiton is not a linguist). The emerging messaging methods that a textologist would use can be described as: immediate feedback tools, coupons, mail list centric notices, alerts, reminders, invitations, pay for fee service advertisements or donation requests. To explain: Immediate Feedback Method (IFM)Italic text IFM is a communication tool that can be used to connect with large audiences in almost any setting. Examples are conference presentations, class rooms, church services, and television or radio audiences. A survey or request for a response format is designed by the textologist based on the needs of the customer or user. The survey is displayed using the appropriate presentation media and the participants are asked to enter their vote or selection from the choices displayed. Coupons (Mo-pons)Italic text The design creation of a unique bar-code scan-able message to be received by a specific cell device (smart phone or simple cell phone) to be used in conjunction with a specific product promotion or events. Other uses are boarding passes for transportation, event tickets Mail List Centric Notices (MCN’s)Italic text MCN’s can be created for any identified group. Group participants can be identified in a variety of contexts such as teams, classes, employees, professions, social network space users or existing customers of a company or service. Messages are designed to reach out to the targeted MCN list based on customer preferences or promotions and individual’s request for information. This same approach can be used for invitations, alerts, reminders or solicitations. Pay For Fee Services (PFFS) Marketing and product campaigns can be designed to generate revenue using a short code provided by the network operator. It should be noted that short codes need to be applied for and approved by the network operator in advance. This process may take a number of weeks to complete and require an application process. A textologist can design a for fee service campaign using a variety of methods using advertisements coordinated with other media (in any form), social networks, political and philanthropic organizations. They are not done yet! Textolgists convert ideas and concepts into a SMS context for a specific purpose.
