Tajamul Islam

Tajamul Islam is India's eight-year-old girl kickboxer from Kashmir who is the national kickboxing champion and represent India at an international event in Italy. She won the gold medal at the World Kickboxing Championship held in Andria, Italy.
Early life and background
Islam is a Class 2 student and a resident of Tarkpora village in Bandipora district, 65 kilometers from Srinagar. Tajamul is a student of the local Army Goodwill School. She has one brother and two sisters. They also practice kickboxing and have taken part in many state-level championships. Islam also won the gold medal in the Jammu & Kashmir Wushu championships in Haridwar in 2015.
Kickboxing career
Islam journey started in 2014 when she joined a local academy, which trains young boys and girls in martial arts. Tajamul won national recognition the gold medal in sub-junior category at 2015 National Kickboxing Championship, held at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.
J&K State Sports Council secretary and PDP leader Waheed Rehman Para said, “Islam has created history by winning a gold medal in the game at the age of eight,”
