Joginder Thakur

Joginder S. Thakur, born 16 October 1987, in Dessa, Tehsil Doda, in the Doda District of Jammu & Kashmir, India, is an Advocate and a renowned social worker & youth leader. He was the National Delegate of Jammu & Kashmir of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) elected in 2012 till the next elections in 2014. Born on 16 October 1987 at a very backward and farflung village Dessa in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir state.
Received elementary education in the village itself.
After middle class was migrated to Doda City to get education there in a reputed school.
After completing 12th came to Jammu to join college in 2006 in joined Govt. Maulana Azad Memorial College at Jammu.
Graduated in year 2009 and in the meanwhile pursued Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications.
After completing graduation joined University of Jammu, Department of Law, LLB 3 years( Professional) in 2009.
As a student leader in College:
Joined NCC, NSS and Gandhian Study Centre at MAM college.
In NCC attended more than 20 training camps including 3 National integration Camps( Leh, Kohima and Kerala)and All India Inter Directorate Shooting Competition at Chandigarh.
In NSS attended 7 workshops and also organized a plantation drive and donated blood thrice.
In Gandhian Study Centre started free computer course for poor students at MAM college itself under the guidance of Dr. Neeraj Sharma.
Moreover, participated and lead various agitations and student movements at MAM college including Protest in support of Execution of Afzal Guru, Protest for Open Choice to students of Jammu University following loss caused by Amar Nath Agitation in Jammu.
As a student Leader at Jammu University:
After joining Law at University of Jammu, formally joined National Secular Forum as Vice President and lead movement against Illegal Study Centers in Jammu and got listed 142 study centers including all PTU centers and deaffiliation of Priyadarshani Institute of Management studies. Protested against various unjust activities in University Campus.
Got nominated in Students Cultural Council, the only elected and recognized student body in Jammu University under Department of Students Welfare. Organized various activities in SCC in one year long tenure.
Edited the first edition of Jammu University News Letter “The Footprints”.
Joined NSUI in August 2011 as state secretary after resigning from NSF.
Students of Jammu and Kashmir showed faith in me when they elected me as National Delegate to represent them At National Level in Delhi. Election was conducted by Central Election Authority.
Wing secretary, Swami Vivekananda Youth Club, A club of Boarder of Swami Vivekananda Boys Hostel Jammu,.
State Vice-President, Chenab Valley People's Association. It is the association fighting for the development of Chenab Valley, Erstwhile Doda District specially demanding Chenab Valley Autonomous Hill Development Council, Better Road connectivity, Chenab Valley Hostel, Share in Hydro Electric Projects on river Chenab etc.
State Secretary, National Forum for Peoples' Rights, an National NGO affiliated to UNESCO, UNO working in the field of human rights education.
Coordinator, Young Broadcasters Club-Law Department Chapter, A group of Students of Jammu University affiliated to Radio Kashmir Jammu-Yua Vani Service, conducting discussions on various topics with a view to spread awareness among rural masses and students.
