Tammy Jennings

Tammy Jennings is an Australian political candidate who leads the South Australian Legislative Council ticket for the SA Greens at the 2010 state election. Since the 2006 election which saw Mark Parnell elected for an eight year term as the first SA Greens MP on 4.3 percent, have seen the Green vote go from four percent to consistently over ten percent.
History
Jennings became heavily involved in university politics, media, and activism, campaigning against the closure of her Salisbury Campus of the University of South Australia, and was elected SA State President of the National Union of Students.
Jennings has worked in organisations such as Amnesty International and the YWCA and held such positions such as Policy Officer for the Mental Health Coalition of South Australia. Jennings was the Higher Education and Youth Advisor for Senator Natasha Stott Despoja in 1995, and in 1999 she assisted the Yes Campaign for an Australian Republic.
