Surya Yalamanchili

Surya "Chili" Yalamanchili is the Democratic candidate for the 2010 for Ohio's Second Congressional District seat, now held by Republican Jean Schmidt. Yalamanchili had previously been known for his run on Donald Trump's reality show the apprentice where he was fired on the 8th week of the show. After the show,he continued his previous job as a brand manager for Cincinnati's Proctor and Gamble and later moved on to LinkedIn and finally Social Media Networks. He quit his job in September 9 to run for Ohio's Second Congressional District.
Born in Pennsylvania and raised in New Jersey, Yalamanchili grew up in a blue color family.. He graduated from Rutgers Universty with honors, where he was class president and delivered the commencement address. After Rutgers, hea joined Proctor and Gamble as a brand manager for the Olay Brand. In 2007, Yalamanchili was recognized on the Advertising Age's 40 under 40 list.
Yalamanchili announced his run for this office in September. He is sponsored by Representative Connie Pillich, Cincinnati Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls, Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory, the Cincinnati Enquirer, previous OH-2 congressman Tom Luken, Congressman and Mayor Charlie Luken, and previous Democratic nominees Victoria Wulsin and Paul Hackett. On May 4, Yalamanchili won the Democratic Primary election defeating opponent David Krikorian.
The race had been marked by accusations of racial slurs.
He is currently running for the 2010 seat in November.
