Dean Greco


Dean Greco (b. September 20, 1979) is an Independent candidate running for a seat to represent New Jersey's 7th district in the U.S. House of Representatives. His campaign slogan is "All-Day Breakfast Party."

Early Life


Greco was born in Paterson, NJ and graduated from Rowan University in 2001 with a BA in Communications specializing in Radio, TV and film. After graduating he worked for WMBC-TV 63 in West Caldwell, NJ where he met his wife, then-anchor Nicole Lieb. The two married in 2005 and currently live in Flemington, NJ. Greco left television to become a teacher. He currently teaches Communications Technology.

2008 Congressional Race

In the spring of 2008, Greco formally declared his candidacy as an Independent running to take the seat of Rep. Mike Ferguson in Congress. In November 2007, Rep. Ferguson announced he would not seek re-election.. Since then, New Jersey's 7th district race has become one of the state's most intense contests. Republican Leonard Lance and Democrat Linda Stender are battling each other and three Independent candidates including Greco, Michael Hsing and Thomas Abrams.

All-Day Breakfast Party


Greco started the All-Day Breakfast party platform as a way to demonstrate how anyone can take part in the democratic process. In an Oct. 8, 2008 interview on WIBC (Indianapolis), Greco explained how he decided to choose a non-controversial platform to demonstrate the process of how everyone has the right to stand up for what they believe in- his passion is breakfast.
