Sudeep Mehta

Sudeep Mehta (born 1991) is an international award-winning photographer, filmmaker and an environmentalist from Mumbai, India. His images have been published by National Geographic, National Geographic Traveler, Digital Photography Review, Huffington Post, Smithsonian Magazine, On Being, JPG Magazine, The Fountain, Quaker Universalist Fellowship, National Review and several other international publications.
Early Life and Career
Sudeep Mehta was born and brought up in Mumbai, India. He completed his school graduation and started his career as a documentary filmmaker. His work was noted and appreciated officially by the former Chief Minister for the State of Maharashtra, India, Vilasrao Deshmukh. In 2008, he directed a public service advertisement for MTV India, titled, 'Hit ya Miss' starring VJ Jose. 'Ten', one of his films was screened at Eros Theater, Mumbai, India for the 10th Kala Ghoda Arts Festival. Mehta was the Indian Youth Representative at the Earth Charter +10 International Conference for Sustainable Development. There, he gave his speech at the historic Sabarmati Ashram at Ahmedabad, Gujarat (India), along with former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Ruud Lubbers and Indian spiritual leader, Ravi Shankar. The charity short “GET UP” was made for the victims of the Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami. Japanese actor had participated in the making of “GET UP,” whose structure consists with collage of some 13 photos chosen out of 530 gathered from all around the world. The R & B singer/song writer EMI MARIA has presented her song “Proud” for this charity short. In 2012, he left his film-making career to pursue his interest in photography and the same year he won several international awards in photography and was also published in National Geographic Traveler’s “20 Most Popular Photos of 2012”. Smithsonian Magazine, appreciating one of Mehta's clicks on On Being, wrote, "What an absolutely brilliant composition".
