Preity Uupala (born Préity Üupala pronounced Pree-Tee) is an Australian actress, film producer, entrepreneur. and the current Miss India international AP 2012. She is a multi-lingual actress who has worked in Australia, France, India and USA. In 2011, She became an overnight sensation in China where she was awarded 3 film awards, presented by Jackie Chan, at the Asia Pacific Film Festival. She is well known in Russia for being the official host of the Moscow International Film Festival and being invited as an international industry panelist. She gave a speech in Russian language to a Russian audience on spirituality that sparked media frenzy and was featured in a story by MTV Russia. Her popularity grew in China after her heart warming interview on attending a popular performing arts concert at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion was aired on Chinese TV in Jan 2012. She is also known in USA for bring crowned Miss India international AP 2012. In Australia, she was a finalist at the Miss Earth Australia pagent and made history of being the first candidate of Indian or Portuguese origin to ever be a finalist in the competition since it started. She is passionate about the environment and is involved in a number of charities as a result of being involved in the pageant.
She is one of the few notable celebrities who is well- known in different parts of the globe for entirely different projects.

Preity Uupala is an Actress, Host and a Model best known for her strong presence and striking beauty due to her mixed heritage of being from an Indian and Portuguese background and ability to speak in English, as well as Arabic, Telugu, Hindi and Urdu.
Acting
In 2010, she became known worldwide as a result of accepting 3 film awards for the Bengali movie Janala at the Asia Pacific Film Festival.
She has worked in Australia as well as Europe and USA. She has been a student at the prestigious NIDA - National Institute of dramatic arts- one of the Premiere acting schools in the world produced graduates like Mel Gibson and Cate Blanchett. She also trained in the Stanislavsky and Chekhov acting technique in Australia at the famed acting school, the Acting studio taught by a Russian acting coach who taught at Moscow school of Dramatic Arts. She was immediately picked up Martin Bedford of Bedford and Pearse, one f the most prominent agencies in Sydney who represented the likes of Russell Crowe. She has had an extensive commercial, print and television career appearing in campaigns for USA and Australia for brands such as Cleartrip, Servcorp and Toni and Guy. She appeared in several short and feature films and on Australian TV before winning a scholarship to study film at a Film Academy in New york. She Attended the Cannes Film festival where she was spotted and offered a role in a French TV show Entre nous. She has also appeared in several Bollywood movies, Virsa, Heyy Babyy, From Sydney with Love and Shivam. in 2012, she was approached by a production company, who wanted to film and document aspects of her interesting and spiritual life.
Ms. Uupala has been a co-host for the popular radio show, LA Talk Radio, with 16 million viewers listening every week.
Uupala has been invited to attend and speak at various panels around the world for film festivals and events. She regularly attends these events as well as cultural and political events to share her experiences and wisdom of being a global artist.
Dancing
Ms. Uupala has been dancing for the past 10 years and her dance styles range from Salsa to Bachata and lambada. Her dancing career includes as a dancer in music video Been Waiting (2009).She was also featured in the Australian Idol Wes Carr single . She was also a Salsa performer in Shanghai International Film Festival, in China (June 2011).
She was also the main model and dancer in Babylon Karari, the first single from Clive Wright, of the famed , shot in the Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree.

In 2013, she appeared as the Host and an International guest in Moscow Film Festival
She was the official host for this film festival and awards ceremony and also gave a speech in Russian language to a Russian audience that was covered by the mass media. She has a growing fan base after being interviewed and featured in an episode for MTV Russia and other popular Russian channels. She also attended several Press conferences and Industry panels as well as conducted a Master class at the Mir Novostey Press Center.
At the Cannes Film Festival in may 2013, she was a judge and presenter at the Off De Cannes film ceremony which was covered by French TV channel, launching her in the French market.

Judge
In 2011, Ms. Uupala was appointed as one of the International Delegations that make up the Board of Directors of the Federation of Motion Picture Producers in Asia-Pacific.
She was invited as a judge for the Asia Pacific Film Festival in China. Ms. Uupala made major headlines at the Asia Pacific Film Festival as she won three awards there and was presented the main film award of the night by the famous actor Jackie Chan.
She made the front page of every media outlet and gained a following. She was invited to attend many press outings to famous historical sites along with politicians and Chinese Celebrities.
She became an overnight sensation in China and Asia as a result of the film festival media coverage.
She attended the festival again in 2012 as a Head delegate for India and a Jury Panel member for the Asia Pacific Film festival this time held at the Venetian Hotel in Macao.
As Head delegate, she shared the stage again this time with Jackie Chan and Eric Tsang. She was also on the panel for the talk "Asia as the new Hub in Film industry".Notable members of the festival were Anubhav Sinha and Guneet Monga. She was part of the Indian contingent that accepted the awards for the movies and Gangs of Wasseypur.
She was also a special guest at the World premiere of Jackie Chan's latest blockbuster CZ12 held at The Venetian in Macao. The festival also arranged for her to visit the film industry in Hong kong, places such as Kowloon.
Corporate career
Uupala had a corporate career before she started working in the entertainment industry. Her corporate career took her all over the world where she held lucrative positions. She started her career as a Business Analyst for a tech start-up at 20 years of age. Subsequently, she worked as an Investment Banker and a Management Consultant in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
She had worked for Investec Bank, a South African investment bank based in Johannesburg. She also worked for a management consulting firm in Glasgow, Scotland where one of her clients was Telecom New Zealand.
Education
She graduated at age 20, from University of Wollongong, NSW with degrees in IT and Marketing (Hons) with First Class Honours and
was shortlisted for the University Gold medal before she was offered a Scholarship to study for a Phd at her Alma- mater.
She won the Unicenter "Student of the Year award at a special Gala, due to her excellent academic record and also her volunteer activities. During her summer session
at University, she also won a summer research scholarship where she was paid to conduct a research study on the use of E- Marketing in the Wine industry in Australia.
She also won an internship to work at BlueScope Steel in Wollongong. She was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society.
She was also the recipient of the summer scholarship program at her University where she successfully conducted a thesis in the study of E-Commerce within
the Tourism Industry.
Philanthropy
Préity is an Activist who has lent her face and voice to many charity and philanthropic activities all around the world. She sits on the board
of the LA Based charity, Reading, Writing, Its exciting.
In the US, She is a member of the GWEN- Global women’s empowerment network and is being featured on GWEN TV-
a channel that interviews inspiring women and their stories on empowerment and on abuse in particular.
She has also recently joined forces with 600million.org to promote awareness for the growing problem of stray dogs on the planet.

Preity is the face of a popular spiritual healing retreat in Koh Phangan, Thailand. Most recently she has been a celebrity endorser of a luxury Villa estate, Villa Thea, in Mykonos, located in the Greek islands.
Personal life
Uupala grew up in a spiritual family and practices Yoga and Meditation avidly. She is a certified Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher in Los Angeles.
She joins a line of celebrities who practise Ashtanga yoga such as Sting, Gwyneth Paltrow and Willem Dafoe.
Recently she was in the paradise island of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan where she appeared in a promotional video for various brands.
She is the face of a popular healing retreat in Koh Phangan, Thailand. She has traveled the world in the search for spiritual truth and
her travels have taken to exotic countries like India, Thailand, Cambodia and Bali. She was featured in a video documentary while she was in Ankor Wat, the famed temples in Cambodia. She has immersed herself in many different faiths and experienced different heights of ecstacy that come from deep spititual practices. Some of these are whirling from Sufism, purification fasting from Buddhism, Shaktipat and Kriya yoga initiation from Hindusim, and Kundalini rising from the sikh traditions. She has also embarked on Vipassana a ten day silent meditation retreat.
She is vegetarian, meditates daily and maintains a compassionate lifestyle in service of others.
She currently is a resident of Beverly Hills, but also spends time between Sydney and Thailand.
