Pyung Ahn Do Won

Pyung Ahn Do Won is a Korean martial art descended from Kang Duk Won. The system is headed by Don Baird.
History
The current head of the style, Don Baird, was trained in Kang Duk Won by Suh, Young Ik. Suh's teacher was the well-known founder of Kang Duk Won, Park, Chul-hee.
Kang Duk Won was founded on the principles of Chang Moo Kwon, a style based on Chinese Chuan Fa that was founded in Korea in 1945 by Yoon Byung In.
Style Name
Baird renamed the style to Pyung Ahn Do Won in 1993 "to better represent his attitudes toward the community and mankind.".
When translated into English, Pyung Ahn Do Won means "The Hall of the Peaceful Mind Way"
Alternate Spellings
Over the years, the spelling of the style's name has appeared in print with different spellings, such as "Pyong An Do Won," but the style's official website spells it "Pyung Ahn Do Won."
Don Baird
In December 1999, Baird was lauded by the Burbank, California Chief of Police David Newsham for his role in developing a defensive tactics program for the Burbank Police Department.
In 2009, he was awarded the "Golden Life Achievement" by the Masters Hall of Fame.
