Subhan Sahib

Subhan Sahib S/O Muhammed Ibrahim was born in 15 April 1910. A Literate, who is 25 years of age entered, the Indian Freedom Struggle. He Played an active role in the Indian National Congress (INC).
Indian National Movement
Born in Tindivanam, South Arcot Dsitrict of Madras Presidency, he participated in the 1942 -Quit India Movement. He was arrested and imprisoned for 3 months, in vellore central jail.
Spirit of Patriotism Is Invaluable
After Independence, the Indian Freedom Fighters were awarded with 5 acres of Land each. Subhan Sahib was alloted 9 acres under the Tindivanam Taluk, Kondamoore Village. But he refused it saying "My Spirit of Patriotism is Invaluable". He didn't avail pension, Railway Pass, Thamarai Pattiram facilities also. His Whole income revolved around his self owned rice mill in his home town named "Bharatmata Rice Mill" and Car Service Station.
Political career
He was a well known face among eminent personalities like Kumarasami Kamaraj (Chief Minister of Madras Presidency), O. P. Ramaswamy Reddiyar and O. V. Alagesan.
Death
Subhan Sahib died on 23 January 1987 at the age of 98.
