Strawberry Swing

"Strawberry Swing" is the ninth track on Coldplay's fourth album
The song has been part of the setlist for Coldplay's concerts during their Viva la Vida Tour.
The song features distiortion-free, finger picked guitars that make up alot of the songs Mali-type sound. Chris Martin explained how the song's musical style came to be. He said, "My mum is from Zimbabwe, So I spent alot of time there. I used to work in a studio there", as most of the song is built around african styled guitars, along with Chris' blissed out singing, which give the song a touching and psychedelic feel to it. It was one of the many songs that made the cut for the album. As many songs were written and recorded, but did not appear and still have yet to be released, or have been released on Coldplay's 2008 .
Lyrically, The track is a pychedelic Love song about a "Perfect Day" "It's such, it's such a perfect day" and "Without you it's a waste of time", with the latter refering to the person in the lyrics lover/friend, and that the "perfect day" wouldn't be good without him/her, is also the song's Key lyric.
On May 21, 2009, Chris Martin said during an interview on Coldplay.com, "We've just finished the video for Strawberry Swing, Which is going to be pretty good, I think". Chris also commented on what the video will be like. He said "It's a new concept in video making, which will either be a woeful disaster or a BAFTA winner. I guess you'll be seeing it some point in the summer. It's a summery song."
