SSLPost is a registered trading name of GCrypt Ltd, GCrypt Ltd was founded in 2006 and is based in London, England. SSLPost provides email encryption, secure file transfer and Payroll Processing with all data encrypted using patented SSLPost encryption technology.
History
Gcrypt’s email encryption technology was acquired in 2001 as part of a privately owned company, Protx Limited. Protx, a payment gateway, specialised in securing credit card transactions over the internet. Aimed extensively at SMEs it grew to become one of the largest payment gateways in the UK. Protx was sold to Sage Plc in 2006.
The original investors in Protx retained the email encryption software and formed Gcrypt Limited in 2006. Between 2006 and 2009, the company invested in R&D to improve the core service offering and customer interfaces, as well as to carry out extensive testing to ensure that the platform was
stable and scalable.
The original US patent application was made on January 5th, 2006 and subsequent world wide patent applications have now been made.
Litera Corp sealed a licensing deal for SSLPost technology in 2011
SSLPost is now used by a variety of organisations worldwide to encrypt emails, payslips and to provide email tracking for a variety of other business documents.
